Aleris is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the
Aluminum Recycling team in Friendly,West Virginia. This position is
responsible for the overall maintenance of all plant equipment, electrical
systems, mechanics, hydraulics, buildings, and power equipment.
Position must follow all safety, quality, environmental, and company policies.

Requirements include High School Diploma or equivalent and two years
related experience or a relevant Associates Degree Technician should
have the ability to read blue prints, schematics, repair manuals and
technical literature associated with mechanical equipment, and abilities to
interpret power and control electrical/electronic schematics, interconnection
wiring and control drawings and utilize various electrical and electronic test
equipment. Welding experience is a plus. Must be able to function with
minimal supervision.
Aleris offers competitive compensation and benefits, along with paid vacation
time. Maintenance Technician hourly pay rate is $20.46. Uniforms, Safety
Boots and Tools are provided.

o    Ability to frequently lift items that vary in size weighing up to 50 pounds individually or occasionally with assistance from others or by utilizing automated equipment.

  • Other Skills:
    • Ability to work in team environment and communicate       well with others.

o    Ability to observe all activities throughout work areas to accomplish safety goals for self and others.

o    Ability to deliver materials off-site using company vehicles or transport parts on-site and must be willing to learn operation of company equipment and must hold a valid driver’s license.

  • Computer Experience:  Ability to maintain basic knowledge of AS400 Operating System, Windows Operating System and Inventory control procedures.

As an Extruder Operator you will be responsible for operating plastic extrusion machines which convert PVC powder into a variety of shapes and sizes of profiles used in the manufacture of various building related products. You will adhere to all EHS standards and requirements. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

* Attention to Detail: produces work that is accurate and does not require any changes.
* Set up dies, extrusion machines and auxiliary equipment
* Observe machine operation to detect profile defects or machine malfunction and readjust operating conditions
* Conduct quality checks by measuring product dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation by using calipers
* Move finished profile and prepare racks of product for shipment
* Carry scrap and defective profile to grinding machine bins
* Fill hopper, and perform minor machine maintenance such as lubrication and cleaning dies
* Take hourly readings of machine gauges and document results on run sheets.
* Accurately count and report production and inventory at end of shift
* Perform duties in safe and responsible manner;
* Attend all plant EHS training as scheduled, and follow guidelines, rules, procedures and programs as trained
* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
* All other tasks assigned by your Supervisor.

Experience:
* One to two years experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
* 3-6 months manufacturing experience.

Knowledge and Skill:
* Ability to use a tape measure accurately and do basic math skills
* Ability to convert fractions to decimals.
* Ability to read written instructions, production reports and common statistical data.
* Comfortable with operating machinery.
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
* Ability to push/pull 3000 pounds.
* Ability to stand for up to 12 hours per day.
* Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and climb.
* Ability to handle and manipulate tools and/or controls.
* Ability to work in varying internal temperatures, sometimes reaching 110 degrees.

The Field Service Technician is responsible for multiple operational compression and production jobs with direct responsibility for compressor packages, gas process equipment and power generation equipment, including rentals in an area around Marietta, OH and Parkersburg, WV
Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides preventative and corrective field mechanical service on gas compression and process equipment on site at client locations.
  • Directs, coordinates, and assists with scheduled and unscheduled equipment repairs and maintenance.
  • Represents Exterran in a professional manner at all times.
  • Follows all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.

  • Minimum of 1-year experience working on natural gas compressors.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must be able to work independently.

  • Engine and Compressor Schools/Training. Experience working on CAT 3500 and 3600 engines.

  • Knowledge and experience of high speed and low speed equipment.
  • Significant experience in engine, compressor mechanics, production equipment and gas compression.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to be proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
