Essential Duties:

-Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&ID’s,   loop sheets, vendor instructions and work specifications.  -Install and maintain low and medium voltage electrical distribution   and control equipment up to and including 13,800 volts.  -Must be able to troubleshoot and repair solid state and electro-   mechanical controls, pneumatic control instrumentation, & valving.  -Working knowledge of electronic test equipment.  -Working knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLC).  -Working knowledge of Distributive Control Systems (DCS).  -Be familiar with a wide range of instrumentation.  -Knowledge of digital smart transmitter technology.  -Layout, design and construct control cabinets and panels.  -Have a working knowledge of variable frequency drives.  -Interface with outside vendors and/or contractors for technical assistance and troubleshooting.  -Assist with job scheduling and material specification.  -Must be self-starter and accept job ownership.  -Responsible for tracking time with associated work orders during     scheduled shift.  -Basic knowledge of computer systems for interfacing with    electrical and instrument equipment plus computerized    maintenance management system.  -Perform other tasks within the Instrument & Electrical    responsibilities as assigned. Qualification Requirements: 1. Must be physically able to perform assigned work such as   lifting, climbing, etc. 2. Minimum of 2-year Associate Degree in related studies, or   equivalent job specific experience and training.   3.Capable of reading and interpreting work instructions,    drawings and equipment specifications Testing will be administered to assess and demonstrate knowledge and ability to effectively perform the required essential duties in a safe manner. This position provides support to the Maintenance Department maintaining, repairing, and installing equipment with special attention to mechanical and pipefitting duties. Mechanics must be able to work independently and as part of a self-directed work team.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Performs and assists with the following overhauls: vacuum pump; mill, centrifugal pump, power transmission, gear box, well water pump, refrigeration, and air compressor.
  • Performs and assists with internal fermentor inspections and repairs.
  • Performs and assists with code welding, other welding, and process piping.
  • Operates and assists with crane operations.
  • Prepares piping and instrument drawings.

 

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED); Preferably an Associate Technical Degree or Apprenticeship from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience in one of the following areas: Pipefitting, Welding, Crane Operation, Plumbing, Refrigeration, and Carpentry. Three to five years practical maintenance experience, preferably in chemical manufacturing.
