o    Ability to maneuver product components up to 700+ pounds using assistance of a hoist, lift, etc., to assemble, position, move, production items, placing emphasis on safety and quality.

o    Ability to frequently lift items up to 50 pounds individually to safely position, move and stack production items.

  • Computer Experience:  Ability to maintain basic knowledge of AS400 Operating System and Windows Operating System.
  • Qualified candidates will also be required to complete a braze skills assessment to demonstrate their ability to braze.

Key Activities and Position Responsibilities:

• Must maintain the highest standard of safety and quality in all aspects of the job and performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety standards;
• Must be able to endure a high production environment for extended periods of time;
• Must be able to operate in tight, congested work areas with multiple other activities occurring immediately around the machine;
• Other duties as assigned.

ASI employees must work cooperatively with other employees, and have a good positive attitude. They must also be punctual. Further, this means that you must be ready to work when your shift starts. So, you must arrive at work with enough time prior, to ready yourself for the shift. They should also work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.

Essential Ability Requirements for ASI Personnel:
Working in the field at ASI Constructors Inc. is often physically demanding. The following list describes the minimum ability requirements for field personnel.

• Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials;
• Move heavy objects (94 pounds or more) short distances (20 feet or less);
• Move light objects (less than 94 pounds) long distances (more than 20 feet);
• Heavy lifting with repeated stooping, carrying and bending continually over time (i.e., picks up materials and move to a different location);
• Work long shifts with non-standard break times;
• Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements;
• Learn job-related material primarily through oral instruction and observation. This learning takes place mainly in an on-the-job training setting;
• Must have vision equal to or better than is required for driving;
o If corrective lenses are required to achieve this level of vision, the employee must be able to wear PPE without interfering with the corrective lenses or the required PPE.
o The employee may have to purchase eye glasses (safety glass, etc.) that are compliant with ASI’s Safety Program and OSHA/MSHA requirements;
• Must have good hand-eye coordination;
• Must have quick reaction times;
• Must be able to hear adequately enough to be alerted by horns, sirens, shouting, or any other noise that is meant to convey a safety warning;
o If corrective device is required to achieve this level of hearing, the employee must be able to wear PPE without interfering with the corrective device or the required PPE;
• Lift arms above shoulder level (i.e., throws bags into a truck);
• Must have good balance and must not be clumsy;
• Climb ladders or steps to reach objects;
• Must be able to work at heights of up to 100’ or more;
• Must be able to work in confined or enclosed spaces;
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time;
• Must be able to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and safety-toed boots;
• Must be able to walk moderate distances to reach work area (1/2 mile or more);
• Enter the cab of a vehicle that is 3.5 feet (or more) off the ground;
• Must be able to sit in the operator’s seat of equipment and safely reach all pedals, switches, levers, buttons, etc. required to safely operate the equipment (if authorized for that piece of equipment);
• Must be able to sit in the operator’s seat of equipment and have an adequate field of vision of all instruments, gauges, warning lights, as well as an acceptable field of vision out of the windows and/or mirrors (if authorized for that piece of equipment);
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions;
• Must be committed to contributing to a culture of safety, looking out for yourself and others.

Preferred Qualifications and Training:

The Operator should have at least 10+ years of relevant experience in the field and must be able to pass a background check as well as pre-hire and random drug screens.

Summary & Responsibilities:

Dominion East Ohio seeks a Gas Construction & Maintenance (C&M) Helper to perform duties of increasing skill as part of a crew related to the distribution and maintenance of gas pipelines.

May be assigned individual functions. Works under the leadership of higher C&M classifications and/or the C&M supervisor.

Typical duties include: 1) Operating and driving crew trucks and light equipment (dump truck, vac truck, etc.); 2) Assisting and performing various physical assignments such as excavating, breaking, backfilling and utilizing all C&M hand tools including pavement breakers, tampers, hand spades, tapping tools, etc.; 3) Using curb box locator, pipe locating equipment, and pipe to soil meter; 4) Performing curb box and cathodic protection work as directed; 5) Performing survey work with instruments such as the CGI or other leak detection equipment; 6) Classifying and reporting leaks according to the company Standard Operating Procedures; 7) Performing routine maintenance and service on gas detection equipment; 8) Completing the necessary paperwork involved; 9) Operating earth-moving equipment mounted on transportation vehicles or on tractors; 10) Learning to and performing minor repairs and routine maintenance such as checking fuel, oil, water and hydraulic fluid levels. May replace broken hydraulic hoses at the job site if parts are available; 11) Assuming responsibility for assigned equipment; 12) Performing other duties within Helper classification.

Job Qualifications:

Required (be sure your resume specifies how you meet the following requirement. If you meet this requirement but your resume does not specify this, we cannot make that assumption):

1) You must already possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A, combination license with air brake endorsement. Tanker endorsement is required at the time of interview.

Preferences: 1) Experience in natural gas construction and maintenance, performing fitter operator-type work (strongly prefer at least one year such experience); 2) Experience using leak detection equipment; 3) Basic computer knowledge

Other required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience:

1) Physical ability to: dig trenches with a shovel, to perform pipefitting work, to work in excavated areas, and to work with heavy equipment like backhoes, front end loaders and jackhammers. Must be able to walk approximately 160 feet, carrying a 90 pound jackhammer. Must be able to carry a tool bucket and fire extinguisher. A physical ability test will be administered as part of the interview process;

2) Must have the aptitude for fitting work and operating necessary tools and equipment including backhoes, trenchers, light equipment, tapping equipment, boring equipment, leak detection equipment, etc.;

3) Must have knowledge of or the ability to develop knowledge of, and to comply with, natural gas construction and maintenance procedures and safety regulations;

4) Ability to complete the necessary paperwork associated with this position.

Requires: High School diploma or GED

Testing Required:

This job requires recommended test results from the Gas Helper physical and pipefitting test administered on-site during the interview process.

Working Conditions:

100% outdoors. Work is performed outside in all kinds of weather, and in potentially hazardous circumstances (around natural gas).
