Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration
Classroom and shop experiences enable the student to become proficient in the installation, repair and maintenance of domestic and commercial air conditioning, refrigeration and heating systems. Included in instruction are the theory and application of basic principals involved in the conditioning of air; the operating characteristics of various types of equipment; the use of technical reference manuals; the diagnosis of malfunctions; the repair and adjustment of equipment; the repair of electrical control systems; proper refrigerant handling methods, tools of the trade and sheet metal fabrication. Our instructors are skilled individuals who have retired after many years of working in HVAC or who work in the trade every day. This program is a fit for many dislocated workers. It provides skills training that will enable you to be more competitive for plant jobs and as potential employees with HVAC or Maintenance Contractors. Students have the option to take various Certification tests at $75.00 each.

| Internships will be a total of 480 hours which are to be completed within one year of class completion. The intern will be subject to all the rules and regulations of the company and will be under the direction of a company employee. This is a non-paying internship. The internship will add to the "hands-on" experience already offered by The Career Center - Adult Technical Training. The student will perform duties determined by the supervisor or manager of the department to which they are assigned relating to the course curriculum. | |||
HVAC/R Certification Testing
Technician Certification Testing: EPA 608, R-410A & RSES: A 4-hour review will be held prior to the test.

**In Compliance with OSHA standards, The Career Center will require students to wear steel toe shoes and safety glasses in our trade and industrial classes. These items are not provided by the school.
