This course starts with low pressure and continues through steam engineer. You will prepare to take the Certified Boiler Test. Course Topics Include: Types of Boilers, Feed Water Accessories, Safety Procedures, Heat Boiler Sections, Combustion Equipment, Steam Pumps, Boiler Efficiency, Boiler Transfer Systems. Students have the option of taking the Low or High Pressure Boiler courses individually. Students will be prepared to take the Certified Boiler Test. Optional Internship: $2000 Internships will be a total of 480 hours which are to be completed within one year of class completion. The intern will be subject to all the rules and regulations of the company and will be under the direction of a company employee. This is a non-paying internship. The internship will add to the "hands-on" experience already offered by The Career Center - Adult Technical Training. The student will perform duties determined by the supervisor or manager of the department to which they are assigned relating to the course curriculum.

Topics Include: Cutting Speeds and Feed Practice, Measuring Tools, Boring Procedures, Center Drilling, Surface Grinding, Choosing Threads, Gears, Shaping, Cutting on Lathe, Drill Press Operations, Drilling & Tapping, Lubricants and Cutting Oils, Pulley and Gear Speed and Screw Thread Computation.
